Sticking to your New year resolutions

I always hear “new year, new me “But how many people actually end up sticking to their new years resolutions?

Here are some tips to keep you on track

Start small – break down your resolutions into smaller more manageable chunks .Instead of i’m going to eat healthy this year try swapping one or two snacks for healthier options and work up from there

Pick one – Just pick one resolution instead of having an unachievable list. Its much easier to stick to one thing at a time.

Find something you enjoy – try out new hobbies to find one that you enjoy but also fits into your schedule. You’re more likely to stick to something you are enjoying and fits into your life.

Set a goal that’s measurable Maybe your goal is to walk a mile a day .You can track your progress on an app Or make a note in a diary of the mile you walked, how it made you feel, the weather, what you saw . You will be able to look back after a few months and see how your health and well-being has improved.

Make your resolution a habit It takes time to form a new habit. If it’s something you can add into your daily/weekly routine your more likely to keep your resolution.

Find someone with similar goals. This will keep you accountable. Think gym buddy or joining a group activity Most of all be kind to yourself .Have a bit of patience change takes time!

Happy new year

Hope to see you on a walk soon
