
As the weather gets hotter here’s some top tips to keep safe in the sun whilst Nordic walking .
Suncream
Apply a high factor suncream 20 minutes before walking.
Make sure you reapply every two hours or more if your sweating.
Cover up
If you can see skin UV can reach it !
Loose fitting clothes , long sleeves or trousers with UPF 50 are ideal.
Pick a wide brim hat or cap.
Sunglasses to protect your eyes from UV and glare.
Pick appropriate routes
Plan your routes on shadier paths.
If that isn’t possible make sure there are some shady spots along the way to rest out of the sun.
Stay hydrated
Make sure you pack enough water for the length of your walk or plan the walk where you can refill.
