I am an experienced outdoor education instructor, with 15 years of experience in the industry, teaching a range of activities to young people and adults, from canoeing and climbing to archery and bushcraft. I love being outside and spending as much time as I can out exploring.
In 2016, I unfortunately, contracted Lyme disease, which had a huge impact on my life, affecting my strength and ability to do the activities I had always done. Despite the challenges the symptoms caused, they also started my wellbeing journey.
I found Pilates a huge help in my recovery, and in 2017 I retrained as a Pilates instructor, wanting to pass my knowledge on to others. I thoroughly enjoy teaching Pilates and seeing the difference it can make to people’s bodies and mental wellbeing.
To complement Pilates, I began looking for a low-impact activity I could do outside with others, which would also provide a good workout.
In 2019 I discovered Nordic Walking and it was love at first walk. Being out in the fresh air, surrounded by the beautiful Sussex landscape, whilst benefitting from low-impact exercise for my joints, was so exciting for me to find. I bought poles after my first walk and haven’t looked back since.
Both Nordic Walking and Pilates work on posture, alignment and offer a full-body workout. I’m delighted to share the joy of both these practices with others through my classes.
